Tear down the old rundown buildings in London east
They want to revamp 'old east' London. They're already a step in the right direction with the senior apartment building that is going to go in where the Centretown Mall once was. But really, do you think an 88-year-old grandma is going to want to live next door to two pawn shops?
The best way to fix that stretch up is to just level everything on Dundas from Adelaide down to at least Lyle Street. - How many junk stores and pawn shops do we really need in London?

Five non-profits want to refurbish the old Century Theatre on Dundas and make it their headquarters.
Andrea Hallam of the London Arts Council is helping to lead this plan, which is about to start fundraising.

Move parking out of downtown and encourage people to walk in the core.
This idea came from Katie Wilhelm, building manager for The Met - a downtown artisans market - she also wants existing lots turned into 're-imagined' public spaces.

Clean up downdown's image
Get rid of the graffiti; renovate or tear down old/abandoned buildings; ban sex shops and stores selling drug paraphernalia;

Use the existing bike path route, their is room for a small gauge railine and the bikepath.

Hold building owners reponsible for removing grafetti as soon as it occurs.
There is some grafetti that has existed on buldings on Dundas St for years. Yes, grafetti can be art, but defacing grafetti does not have a place in our downtown.

Tallest Building in Canada
We should combine a new City Hall with a hotel, and office tower and condo project and make Canada's largest skyscraper. We need something to bring in tourists.

make the downtown business taxes lower
Remember the downtown mews, or the galleria mall? Many stores left for the 2 major malls. Significantly lowering taxes for those businesses that operate within the downtown may not be fair (or even legal?), but it sure would make store owner think about relocating there.

grocery
I am in favour of a grocery store but would not want to see the market close - I like their variety, and differences from a retail chain grocer. We currently live in Oakridge (although we've purchased a condo downtown for future) and love Remarks - we always go there for the fresh foods (ie. fruits and veges) but then go to Shoppers and/or RCSS for toiletries and soda, etc. It's nice that they are close to each other and would like to see those services/products in or near the market.

A free shuttle
that moves people from the Forks, Train stn, Victoria Park and the University/College.
This would bring people downtown, without parking woes, and without more vehicle traffic. Encouraging foot traffic of visitors and students who come in via train constantly.23 votesThe idea of efficiently moving people around London from one attraction to another is an idea that deserves consideration. Take out all of the parking meters in the core.
Driving downtown especially in rush hour is ridiculous with all of the installed parking meters making right hand turns almost impossible until a light changes.

That weird concrete area between City Hall an Centennial hall.
Could be better used in many new ways. As a large greenhouse, or for solar panels to help run city hall, or a small outdoor market. Or anything, really. I never see anyone there, and it seems like a fantastic and yet under-utilized space.
