Just Some thoughts...
London needs some vast improvement; I think we can all agree on this. So these are just some of my thoughts about improving London. Some of these ideas have come from talking to others, reading these threads, and some of my own thinking. So just to state I do not take ownership of any of these ideas...
Develop a free-way. London has some of the worst trafic jams and congestion of any city. Whoever planned out the roadways did a terrible job. A free-way would alow for greater movement, bringing people to other parts of the city they normaly wouldnt bother to go because of the drive (including downtown).
Improve bus routs/times. The actual bus routs in the city are not that bad (they could still use improvement but again not that bad). But the times are terrible. Only the most busy of buses come at reasonable times, but it is only for an hr or 2 a day. They need consistant times that the busses run, and at more frequency. (If anyone has been to Ottawa and seen their system, thats more what we need).
Block off Part of Down-town to trafic. Someone mentioned that dundas should be closed between Talbolt and Wellington. And I totaly agree, it would allow people to have a place to walk down-town and for shops to become more unique. It would also give space to beautify down-town, so it looks less drab, and starts to develop a sense of life.
Install Red-Light Cams. Running red lights is a major problem in London. Too many people do it and it causes a lot of accidents. Red light cams would add a deturant to that, making our streets safer for drivers and pedestrians.
Slow our sub-urban sprawl. I know that we cannot stop it but it is something that is slowly draining the life from london. Soon all the city will be is sub-division after sub-division, with a dead core.
Clean up the river. This would bring people and bussiness to the river area. Right now on a sunny hot day its terrible being by the river, it smells like a dump. We need to clean it, making it a place where people want to be.
All additional thoughts and critisim are appreciated. Thanks for reading.

agree with most, if traffic flowed better then that could help people from running red lights! I've never driven in a city that you get stopped at every red light, doesn't matter if you speed or drive slow! especially veterans memorial, what is the point of going 80 for 2 minutes just to get stopped at every light!

Yes, whoever planned the road's system did a bad job, but London will never, ever build an in city freeway. Also, we should not build a ring road freeway because it will promote what you said we don't need in point 5. A ring road will further kill the inner city.
