Mayor Joe got it started with his Downtown Summit on April 27th, and there’s no good reason why we shouldn’t keep the conversation going.   2. Ontario has created a 40% tax credit program for digital media research and development (http://www.omdc.on.ca/Page3400.aspx). The city of London should create a similar program of tax incentives for digital media companies to set up shop in London to capitalize on this market. Property tax cuts, utility expense credits, transit pass programs, downtown core parking inducements...anything the city has control or influence over that would reduce the cost for digital media companies to start-up in London.   3. When I lived in downtown London, getting groceries without a car was a real hassle. I went to the Covent Garden Market for some items, but for my weekly shop, I needed to hit a regular grocery store and there was nothing centrally located. If we want people to live downtown, we need to provide that kind of amenity.
