Move the main Bus lines away from Dundas/Richmond to York/Richmond!
Move the main bus lines off Dundas and keep the rowdy passengers waiting elsewhere. Especially if Dundas goes car free!

Moving some of the buses from D&R is a little simpler than you all may think. Just one block north and south of Dundas we have King and Queen, both streets one way and in opposite directions. I have said for many years keep the #2 bus (the Dundas) on Dundas and move the other buses over to King and Queen. The LTC already does so for when there is construction in the core.
As for north/south routes that is slightly more complicated, but there are already 2 routes on Wellington, but not a single route that goes past Vic Park. Would it not be nice to grab a bus and head downtown for a festival without needing to walk far, I know it sounds lazy but how many people do you know that take their car to the corner store?
Another things that drastically needs to be changed with every bus that goes to the core is to start staggering the times in which they arrive and leave. Just about every bus that goes to D&R or even to the core gather and leave on the :00, :15, :30 and :45 which adds to the amount of people standing in one area as generally one stop will service 2 or more routes. Added to that with all directions leaving roughly at once, if your bus is delayed by traffic, construction or whatever chances are you will miss the connecting bus that everyone says that is the reason for the same arrival/departure times.
By moving the buses around, changing the departure times will make the core look busier to perspective investors that will open up shops and businesses that everyone will use and not just these "high end" boutiques that tend to only bring in the wealthiest of London that only want to come and go once they are done. I have lived in downtown London for nearly 14 years and in that time I have heard tons of talk on change, but I see nothing happening.

Buses all meet up down at D&R because it's a main intersection. Someone getting off a bus heading east or west towards downtown might need to jump on a 4A/B or a 26 to get to work or school out towards White Oaks or Fanshawe College.
Regarding getting panhandled 5 times in as many minutes, many of those people don't want help, and are happy living the life(if you can even call it that) they do. I see some of the same people down there as I did 15 years ago when I attended Beal, and would skip class sometimes to go downtown to one of the three arcades that were down there.

Hello...I'm not saying don't offer bus service on Dundas... but why do ALL the lines have to start from Dundas? Why not make York the starting point and continue to provide service along Dundas. There ALWAYS several handful of people waiting near the mcdonalds or in front of the tim hortons that has prompted many regular people to stop going there. It is difficult to get through and also unfair to be asked for "spare change" 5 times in 5 minutes one spends on Dundas St.

I caution you about moving bus lines off Dundas - this makes it more difficult for anyone with mobility issues. It's less inclusive and doesn't support the businesses on Dundas. This view isn't presenting an obstacle - it's being realistic. Change is not always the answer.

So what is your suggestion JackTripper? Keep things status quo? C'mon, present a solution, not an obstacle.

This would be possible if we had the room for a bus terminal like Sudbury has in their downtown.
Had they built the JLC out in Masonville, the site of the former Talbot Hotel would be the perfect spot for this. All the downtown buses could meet up there, and you'd wait inside a small building with a few take away places to grab a quick snack or a coffee before your bus arrives.
But you're crazy if you think that moving the bus stops away from D&R would get rid of the hoods down there.

It would be far away for the office workers at Queens and Dufferin to use the East/West buses
