Covent Garden Market is smaller than it was and has lost the diversity and realism the old market had. All the fruit and veg stands are from the same family so there's no choice there. The Western Fair market is so much more vibrant. It's great to have a farmer's market out in the sweating heat and sun a couple of days a week but otherwise it's a yuppie's dream. There is no reason that the Market can't do the job of a grocery store except we need to make some big changes to make ownership more diverse so there is some competition.
