Obvious traffic and infrastructure issues. Citezens hate driving here.
To start on a positive note i think the roundabout at hale and trafalgar was a great idea and solution to congestion in the area. I hope to see similar solutions, they dont all need to be as large scale and costly.
Something needs to be done about the train that runs through the core. It backs up traffic so that vehicles are backed up at lights for blocks on Richmond and Adelaide sometimes. There is an overpass on Quebec Street and a subway on talbot but other than that no good traffic flow north to south through the core.
Parking in the lanes on roads such as hamilton and dundas creates issues as 2 lane traffic is suddenly reduced to one. Accidents are also caused this way. We could try to limit parking on major roads in certain areas only during peak traffic hours.
If the city is expected to grow improving the citys traffic flow should be high on he priority list or its just going to get worse.
For the far off future decades from now I hope the folks down at city hall are thinking about implementing some sort of expressway system consisting of rehabilitated existing roads and new constructed ones where land can be obtained. It would be nice to have some expressways with limited access for more free low traffic from suburbs to the core.
