This would be possible, had we not built that too-small arena downtown, which was a pathetic attempt at revamping the core. Had it been built out in the Masonville area, it could have easily been twice or three times the size it is.

So now more millions of tax dollars would have to be spent to build another area, and the JLC would just be abandoned in the long run.

Metro reported the possibility of a pro basketball team here (not the NBA, a Canadian league) and of course there's the recent report that London could actually support an NHL team. An NHL team would require another large arena though, and I doubt the JLC can be re-retrofitted for another 10,000 seats.
