Make Dundas from Wellington to Talbot car free.
With a car-free Dundas Street a big part of the mayor’s downtown vision and with the frequent occurrences of “car-free days” – this topic has been explored and is now in the hands of city hall and car-free advocates.

This stupid idea was tried already and proved to be a massive failure on Dundas Street east of Adelaide at an enormous cost back in the mid 70's. Then even more money was spent trying to rectify the failure, They took out the S curve but failed to restore the area to it's original and successful condition. The result was a massive failure, store closures and dilapidation of the entire zone. Now 35 years later this once vibrant shopping district still has yet to recover. from this enormous folly.

And please, please, please when you say cars mean bikes too. Years ago at one closed road event downtown my toddler son was hit by a cyclist. So for downtown and all of London actually, no matter how much I agree with alternate transportation people have to show respect (and care) for others' safety.

I withdraw this comment and link. Just that bit and only on say weekends, is not a bad plan.
