Even small European cities make sure there are green spaces and car-free squares for people to congregate , to eat, drink, hold hands, read the paper , watch their children playing, whatever.Often a fountain is the focal point. I have seen some beautiful and innovative fountain designs. They always delight the eye, give a sense of coolness, andcan be great fun for kids to play in if designed for that.Forks of the Thames has become a family draw in the summer for waterplay. My suggestion is to choose another 6 or 7 spots throughout London that would be suitable for a fountain square. London could become The Fountain City.
