how about...
This city stops focusing on students and instead on families. Jobs for people everyday people...this city is in the top 10 for the highest unemployment rate in Canada!! No one can afford to go spend their money because they have no job or no job security or make minimum wage. Maybe if this city stopped being a college/university city just living from September to May off students' parents money the city would prosper more.

I think Derek Silva is right. And besides, to the original poster: are you mad because you have no education? Telling London to stop focusing on students when Fanshawe and Western are big draws; scratch that, out only ones? Its like Phil Jackson not playing Kobe Bryant, its like ditching regular Coke forever in favor of Vanilla Coke. You don't just tell a business (in our case the City of London) to stop focusing on something with so much drawing power just because YOU don't like it. I am a proud student and for one will not stand for this bitch-ass attitude against the students.

Derek is exactly what's wrong with this city. - Pretentious jackasses that think they're better than those of us that are 'less educated'.

Derek;
Sometimes people don't have the cure, but can open the door to dialogue. Sorts' like a debate, ya' know. You toss out a topic and let others have at it.
As far as the rest, I see you offering no suggestions other than chastising people for their typing habits a making sure everyone knows about your secure, high paying job. I HAD one of those too. People come in all sorts, many with different communication skills, yet their thoughts are no less important. I do not think dissing them because they are not like you is very constructive.
To the point:
What is the vacancy rate in London. Is it hard to find a house or apartment? Is it hard to find a suitable place for your business? There is a lot of talk in city hall about expansion and development, a couple hundred million dollars worth of talk. Like Harper's jets and jails I have to wonder where that money is coming from. I have asked a lot of people and NOT ONE has an answer. If we as a country can afford of billions on jets and jails, and the city can afford 100's of millions on a new city hall and 401 sprawl, why can't we afford to help those in the most need. We NEED to be in the job making business, not the job taking business. And Derek, I am not talking about high paying secure jobs here, I am talking about jobs that will at least help people pay for a roof over their head, clothes themselves and after that, maybe, just maybe have a decent meal to eat.
(I know the answer as to why few don't help the many. Because there is nothing in it for them.)
(Man I hope I got that all grammatically correct, Sure hate to offend.) <-- almost hit send and noticed there was not a period at the end of my bracketed comment. I am not sure if one is required in a bracket, but better safe than sorry.

I need to say a few things here. First, please use proper punctuation to end and begin new sentences. It makes your idea much easier to read and understand.
Second, I must say that as someone who went to college here and now works full-time in the city, I'm one of many with a secure, high-paying job. To use massive exaggerations like "No one" makes you sound like you're simply ranting.
That being said, can you back up your rant with some potential ideas? It's all well and good to have a problem, but it's usually better to come to an Ideas Forum with, oh I don't know, some ideas perhaps.
