An error occurred while saving the comment D. Leinweber commentedThe welfare office is there to serve the needs of the poor. McDonald's is everywhere. Keep the municipal street cleaners to better use. Have uniformed police foot/bike patrol the river and parks and enforce the laws we have in place.

An error occurred while saving the comment D. Leinweber commentedEvery weekend could have a theme. Co-ordination would have to come from some forward thinking person on behalf of the city. Youth, age groups, theatre, arts, hospitals, research, religions, cultures, festivals, sports activities, conventions, pop, music groups. There are more than enough needy charities who could benefit from week-end events as opposed to a "Walk" or "Run" that lasts one or two hours and does not have a real draw to a crowd. The closest thing that comes to mind is when the Chamber of Commerce ran their "Corporate challenge Cup". It lasted for the whole day and the groups partied into the night. If the liquor laws are to be relaxed a bit to allow patrons carry their beverages in a venue, why should the bar owners be the ones to benefit. Festivals in a controlled area could raise a LOT of money for charities. ( Oktoberfest)

The idea of free parking in London’s downtown is a good one. It could bring people to the city’s core and encourage the commerce business owners need. LFP will explore the pros and cons of this divisive issue in the weeks to come.

I won't pay meters or private parking to shop downtown when Malls and plazas are free. Visitors get ripped off by parking tickets and towing charges. Stop it. NOW !!! -

Downtown London has nothing historic enough to preserve. Let's live in the future not the past..............
Fine; Do that if you must but include fees in their licensing that include restroom provision and maintenance. Thank heavens for McDonlalds and Tim Hortons in this city as there are no readily available washrooms except at the bandshell downtown.
