An error occurred while saving the comment downtownfan commentedGreat downtowns have interesting and unique architecture. We have some great buildings in use on Dundas St. A couple of years ago a handful of buildings were restored at King and Talbot. More are under restoration at Richmond and York as well as Dundas, east of Talbot. All of this helps make the downtown more interesting and can help draw people to the downtown.

An error occurred while saving the comment downtownfan commentedinstead of trying to push people out of the downtown, why not focus on bringing more people in. Are you trying to build a donut? Downtown will be stronger with more diversity. Eaton's, Simpson's, the Bay and many others failed long before OW and other offices moved in. Let's build a vision that draws people in - arts, unique stores, interesting venues....ever count the tattoo parlours, et al in downtown Toronto - there are lots - it's just that there's lots more of everything and that's what's interesting!

For those who need it, accessible location is key to getting service and helping these folks get on with school, training and job search - yea, spread that around and make them spend more time chasing services instead of getting resources to go forward!
Agreed that the forks has potential for lunch time crowds and weekend crowds if there were a few cafes, ice cream bars there for families and office workers. The city could encourage it by offering tax incentives. Bicycle rentals would also do well if there with more day and weekend users
