Tear down the old rundown buildings in London east
They want to revamp 'old east' London. They're already a step in the right direction with the senior apartment building that is going to go in where the Centretown Mall once was. But really, do you think an 88-year-old grandma is going to want to live next door to two pawn shops?
The best way to fix that stretch up is to just level everything on Dundas from Adelaide down to at least Lyle Street. - How many junk stores and pawn shops do we really need in London?
Put up new buildings and store fronts to entice businesses that…

Rapid Bus Transit (RBT) or Light Rail Transit (LRT)
With a RBT or a LRT it will remove 4 lanes of traffic in Downtown (1 in each direction). But in result, it will get poeple downtown and across London faster so less need for parking. There would be mainly two routes (one North / South, the other (East / West). People can get on the first bus / streetcar that comes instead for upto 30 minutes (or an hour at weekends and evening) So there would be not a many people hanging around.

A free shuttle
that moves people from the Forks, Train stn, Victoria Park and the University/College.
This would bring people downtown, without parking woes, and without more vehicle traffic. Encouraging foot traffic of visitors and students who come in via train constantly.23 votesThe idea of efficiently moving people around London from one attraction to another is an idea that deserves consideration. LFP will look at the pros and cons of this idea in the weeks to come.

City Hall Makeover
I am a firm believer that there are no original ideas, but got this one and to ME it is original, so I am just going to go with that.
Background:
Joe Fontana wants to build a new City Hall. It will cost (he says) $100 million. The discussions I am seeing involve questions like: Should a new one be built? Should they just fix the old one? Where is the money coming from? (Apparently a great deal of Fontana becoming Mayor is due to his pledge of zero tax increase).
My Brilliant Idea:
It’s not original. It is “stolen”…10 votes -

More outdoor food vendors that offer diverse cuisine.
I love hot dogs and sausages as much as the next person, but it would be amazing if carts located throughout the downtown dished out asian noodles, jerk chicken, bulgogi, shawarma, biryani, etc.

Free parking?
A lot of the smaller towns have gotten rid of meters and the like to encourage growth of their downtown areas...
139 votesThe idea of free parking in London’s downtown is a good one. It could bring people to the city’s core and encourage the commerce business owners need. LFP will explore the pros and cons of this divisive issue in the weeks to come.

Make the Forks of the Thames more fun.
In the newsroom, we've been kicking around what could make the forks a more lively place – bars & patios, a river walk, a bandshell for free shows, etc. Surprising that hasn't come up anywhere yet.
