Make the Forks of the Thames more fun.
In the newsroom, we've been kicking around what could make the forks a more lively place – bars & patios, a river walk, a bandshell for free shows, etc. Surprising that hasn't come up anywhere yet.

Free parking?
A lot of the smaller towns have gotten rid of meters and the like to encourage growth of their downtown areas...
139 votesThe idea of free parking in London’s downtown is a good one. It could bring people to the city’s core and encourage the commerce business owners need. LFP will explore the pros and cons of this divisive issue in the weeks to come.

Rapid Bus Transit (RBT) or Light Rail Transit (LRT)
With a RBT or a LRT it will remove 4 lanes of traffic in Downtown (1 in each direction). But in result, it will get poeple downtown and across London faster so less need for parking. There would be mainly two routes (one North / South, the other (East / West). People can get on the first bus / streetcar that comes instead for upto 30 minutes (or an hour at weekends and evening) So there would be not a many people hanging around.

Homeless and the poor.
Fix downtown London, and all of London by helping the homeless and the poor. That would improve our image a lot by showing we are humans who care.

More outdoor food vendors that offer diverse cuisine.
I love hot dogs and sausages as much as the next person, but it would be amazing if carts located throughout the downtown dished out asian noodles, jerk chicken, bulgogi, shawarma, biryani, etc.

Major Tourist Attraction - Science Centre, Museum or Aquarium
London needs a tourist attraction that would attract visitors from the Great Lakes region. Some kind of major museum or science centre or aquarium would bring people from all over and would be great for Londoners to come to. Check out http://www.tnaqua.org/Home.aspx and you will see what Chattanooga, Tennessee built. It's a major draw from all over the Southern USA. Chattanooga used to be a dump, but now with this attraction, they are a tourist hotspot. We are in a perfect location and we are a nice size and safe city. The hotels would love to have something like this…

Right now, if you are at Victoria Park, or the Forks of the Thames, you have no idea that Downtown is just two blocks away.

A parking authority that is run by the city. It will control the prices of parking spots,
The city needs to take over most of the parking lots. It will control the prices for it does not skyrocket for special events, and maybe even have free parking in December in the lots and not only the the limited on street parking.

Get rid of the patio at Friday Night Lights
This thing is ridiculous. It takes up 75% of the sidewalk, and makes walking on it almost a hazard because you're so close to the very busy road.
I thought that with Decicco no longer being mayor, it wouldn't be able to go up anymore, or at least not be nearly as large as it has been in the past.
Seriously, how is this thing allowed to be up?
Only in London folks....
